Bio:
Paula Gravitt grew up in Tazewell, Va., a small town in the Appalachian Mountains. She moved to Richmond after high school and worked in retail pharmacy and food industry before getting married and having two children.
She learned American Sign Language at a community college, where she received an associate degree, and then enrolled in Bon Secours Memorial College of Nursing. Her first job out of college was as a nurse in an inpatient pediatric psychiatric hospital. The experience led her back to school to become a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner.
Gravitt and her husband and their two teenage children and two dogs recently moved to Chesapeake from Richmond. Gravitt enjoys reading, crafting, swimming, being outside, and spending time with friends and family.
