Patient Account Representative- Follow Up
Large Pediatric Sub-Specialty Practice is currently hiring full-time Patient Account Representative. The Representative will handle appealing denied and underpaid claims in addition to utilizing online tools and making outbound calls to insurance companies and patients to discuss and resolve unpaid claims.
This role requires a focus on detailed tasks, excellent customer service skills, effective communication skills and the ability to problem solve when dealing insurance companies and patients.
Must have expereince with professional billing and denial management; understand how to interpret an EOB and current knowledge of medical billing including CPT and ICD-10. Virginia Payer(s) and EPIC experience preferred.
Physician- Chief, Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine
- Lead Virginia’s largest volume pediatric ED (30-bed, >55,000 annual volume, >5% annual growth), Virginia’s only dedicated Level I Pediatric Trauma Center, and oversee a PEM-physician staffed sedation service and pediatric emergency medicine fellowship
- Lead and mentor the 16 PEM boarded physicians, 8 general pediatricians, and 8 Advanced Practice Providers
- Collaborate in dyad partnership with the hospital Department Director to ensure high-quality, safe, efficient, equitable, patient-centered, and cost-effective care is delivered in a professional, collegial, and caring workplace. Ensure that patient care is continuously assessed and improved
- Promote continued academic activity within the division. In 2019, our 16 PEM-boarded faculty presented 12 abstracts at national conferences, published 6 peer-reviewed publications, authored 5 book chapters, and gave dozens of lectures on the national, regional, and local levels

Position Description
- Our program provides care for a wide variety of children with complex congenital heart disorders and is ideal for the candidate who has completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiac anesthesia or who has extensive congenital cardiac experience.
- Our anesthesiologists work closely with our cardiac surgical team as well as the Pediatric Cardiac Cath labs and the Pediatric EP lab.

Psychologist- Division of Developmental Pediatrics
The focus of this position is to conduct assessments with children and adolescents regarding concerns for developmental disabilities, and there are opportunities to provide therapy services as well. Specifically, the clinician would administer a range of psychological tests to children and adolescents, and score and interpret test data. The psychologist would then present recommendations for treatment and links children to education and therapeutic services during the feedback session. Test administration is based on an understanding of age, culture, and developmental level. The psychologist documents patient care in the electronic medical record according to regulatory agency guidelines. Additional job duties may include supervision and training of non-licensed staff and collaborative work with pediatricians, therapy providers, and community organizations.
The candidate must possess a doctorate degree in clinical or school psychology with a Virginia state license, or be license eligible in Virginia. Post-doctoral education must include training and experience in conducting developmental evaluations. Preferred qualifications include: 2 years post licensure experience, one year of pediatric experience with children under the age of 6, recent experience in a pediatric setting, and competency with tests such as Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule Second Edition (ADOS-2) and cognitive measures including Wechsler assessments and Differential Ability Scales.

Experience, Education and Training Minimum:
- Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, either PsyD or PhD from an APA/CPA accredited program, as well as completion of an APA/CPA accredited internship.

- Experience providing clinical supervision to mental health providers

Postdoctoral Psychology Fellowship in Pediatric Psychology

The Division of Psychiatry & Psychology at Children’s Hospital of the King’s Daughters (CHKD) has one opening for a postdoctoral fellow to start August 2021. This is a one-year, full-time fellowship offering the opportunity to develop the clinical skills necessary to provide care for diverse pediatric populations and to obtain a position in a pediatric healthcare setting or university-based training program. CHKD’s psychology postdoctoral fellowship involves year-long core experiences with consult-liaison and outpatient services. This fellowship will provide an opportunity to work with a variety of medical populations, including inpatient pediatric rehabilitation, pain and palliative care, gastroenterology, neurology, hematology/oncology, intensive care, and trauma. The fellow will be responsible for working with interdisciplinary teams and the patients referred to each of these service areas. In addition, fellows may supervise trainees and provide educational opportunities to other professionals in the healthcare system. An optional elective experience (4-8 hours/week) within a specialty area to cultivate a niche skillset, is also available.
Applicants must have: (a) completed their doctoral training in clinical psychology from an APA-accredited doctoral program prior to the start date; (b) completed an APA-accredited predoctoral internship; and (c) previous clinical experience in child clinical or pediatric psychology settings.
